Hi, I'm Sophie

About Me

My journey into hair and makeup began 15 years ago, when I went back to college at the age of 24 to train in hair at Guildford College and later in makeup at the Southern School of Beauty. At the time, I was juggling life, children, and everything in between — so for many years, hair and makeup was a passion I nurtured alongside motherhood, often as a creative outlet and hobby I truly loved.

After lockdown, everything changed. I made the brave (and honestly terrifying!) decision to turn my passion into a full-time career and fully commit to building my own business. That leap changed my life.

I’m now five years full-time as a bridal hair and makeup artist and the proud owner of Sophie Mills Bridal — a growing bridal brand supported by an incredible team of talented artists. Together, we travel all over the UK and abroad for destination weddings, creating calm, luxury bridal experiences for modern brides.

Alongside bridal work, I also love educating other artists — offering one-to-one lessons, mentoring, and my Get to Know Your Face makeup sessions, helping others grow in confidence, skill, and creativity.

I’m constantly investing in my own education, attending masterclasses, workshops, and advanced training so that I can always offer my brides and students the very best — not just in technique, but in experience.

For me, this isn’t just about hair and makeup. It’s about helping women feel confident, supported, and completely themselves — whether that’s on their wedding day or in their everyday life.
